Each stud is centerless-ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, so that the gasket and cylinder head slide into place, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases fatigue strength by twenty times.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFollow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque.
