ACL oil pump for longitudinal Nissan SR20DET engines. This is a replacement pump that ACL manufactures using the same design and metallurgy as the original, meeting or exceeding factory specifications, making it the logical choice for replacing a worn-out pump or for a moderately tuned engine.
The rotors (gerotor) are precision-machined from a highly durable steel and copper alloy, with tight tolerances between the housing and rotors to provide the correct pressure and flow, and each pump is individually inspected and tested. The housing is die-cast aluminum and anodized for corrosion resistance.
It must be primed before the first start: pour clean oil into the inlet and turn the rotor by hand to fill it. If air gets in, the pump will cavitate and pressure will drop, even if it is brand new. Keep in mind that a new pump will not fix low pressure caused by worn bearings, clogged passages, or a faulty pressure sensor.
