ACL oil pump for transverse Nissan SR20DET engines. This is a replacement pump that ACL manufactures using the same design and metallurgy as the original, meeting or exceeding factory specifications, making it the logical choice for replacing a worn-out pump or for a moderately tuned engine.
The rotors (gerotor) are precision machined from a highly durable steel-copper alloy, with tight tolerances between the housing and rotors to provide the correct pressure and flow, and each pump is individually inspected and tested. The housing is made of die-cast aluminum and is anodized for corrosion resistance.
You must prime the pump before the first start-up: pour clean oil into the inlet and turn the rotor by hand so that it fills. If air gets in, the pump will cavitate and the pressure will drop even if it is brand new. Keep in mind that a new pump will not correct low pressure caused by worn bearings, clogged passages, or a faulty pressure sensor.
