ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Nissan SR20DET
€59,88
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Nissan SR20DET (part number 4B2960H), designed for engines that will operate under much higher loads and higher RPMs than stock.
Internally, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper sliding layer, which is the one that works against the crankshaft. In the connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
The Race Series have more crush and a somewhat more eccentric shape than standard bearings, two details designed so that the bearing does not shift and remains well-lubricated when the block and the connecting rod deform under load.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a rod journal of 47.956 to 47.974 mm, with a bearing width of 17.1 mm. For that diameter, it recommends an oil clearance of about 0.051 to 0.061 mm, measured with a micrometer and a bore gauge. If the crankshaft is reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the silver-tin final coating of standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black-bluish color is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they are combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
If the crankshaft is reground or you do not know which size you need, contact us with your engine code before ordering.
