ACL Race Series main bearings for Alfa Romeo 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L, part number 5M1112H. These support the crankshaft within the block, and in a tuned engine, they are essential for ensuring oil properly reaches the entire crankshaft.

Inside, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper sliding layer that works against the crankshaft.

The upper shells have a full 180° oil groove, while the lower shells have a partial groove to ensure oil flow to the connecting rods is not restricted, with a tapered groove end to prevent pressure spikes. ACL manufactures them with more "crush" than a standard bearing to ensure they are held securely and dissipate heat more effectively, and with increased eccentricity, which helps maintain the oil film when the housing deforms at high RPM.

In standard size, ACL specifies them for a crankshaft journal of 59.959 to 59.972 mm, and for this diameter, it recommends an oil clearance of approximately 0.061 to 0.073 mm. If the crankshaft has been ground, the measurement changes.

They do not have the final silver-tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black-bluish color is the factory finish and does not indicate a defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they can be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.

Before ordering, confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or ground); if you have any questions, please write to us with your engine code.
