ACL Race Series main bearings for Ford Ecoboost 1.0L Turbo 3-Cylinder (Fiesta, Focus)

ACL Race Series main bearings for 1.0L Turbo 3-Cylinder Ford Ecoboost (Fiesta, Focus), part number 4M7330H. These support the crankshaft in the block, and in a tuned engine, they are responsible for ensuring oil is properly distributed throughout the crankshaft.
Inside, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper sliding layer, which is the surface that works against the crankshaft.
The upper bearings feature a full 180° oil groove, while the lower ones have a partial groove to ensure oil flow to the connecting rods is not restricted; the end of the groove is tapered to prevent pressure spikes. Compared to stock bearings, the Race series has more crush for improved seating and heat transfer, as well as greater eccentricity to support the oil film at high engine speeds.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a crankshaft journal of 44.000 to 44.000 mm, and for this diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.048 to 0.057 mm. If the crankshaft has been reground, the required size will change.
They do not have the silver-tin finish found on standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more clearance is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
