ACL Race Series main bearings for Hyundai Genesis V6 3.3L, 3.5L, 3.8L incl. Turbo (G6DA, G6DB, G6DC, G6DH), part number 4M8599H. These support the crankshaft in the block and, in a tuned engine, are responsible for ensuring proper oil delivery to the entire crankshaft.
The structure is tri-metal, with a steel backing, copper, lead, and tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizing even under very high loads.
The upper bearings feature a full 180° oil groove, while the lower bearings have a partial groove to ensure oil flow to the connecting rods is not restricted; the end of the groove is tapered to prevent pressure spikes. Compared to stock bearings, the Race series has increased crush for better seating and heat transfer, as well as greater eccentricity to promote a consistent oil film at high engine speeds.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a crankshaft main journal diameter of 68.942 to 68.960 mm, and recommends an oil clearance of approximately 0.068 to 0.082 mm for this diameter. If the crankshaft has been ground, the dimensions will change.
These do not feature the silver-colored tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging between brown, black, and bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they can be combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm of additional clearance.
