ACL Race Series main bearings for Nissan Patrol Diesel 4.2L (TD42)
€141,97
ACL Race Series main bearing set for Nissan Patrol Diesel 4.2L (TD42), part number 7M2965H. These support the crankshaft in the block and, in a tuned engine, they are responsible for ensuring that oil reaches the entire crankshaft properly.
The structure is tri-metal, with a steel base, copper-lead-tin lining, nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizing even under very high loads.
The upper bearings feature a full 180° oil groove, while the lower bearings have a partial groove so as not to cut off oil flow to the connecting rods, and the end of the groove is tapered to prevent pressure spikes. Compared to stock bearings, the Race range has more crush for better seating and heat transfer, and increased eccentricity to promote an oil film when the engine is revving high.
In standard size, ACL specifies this for a crankshaft journal of 70.907 to 70.920 mm, and for that diameter recommends an oil clearance of about 0.070 to 0.084 mm. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the silver-tin final plating of standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black-bluish color is factory-standard and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the surface of the bearings to adjust clearance; if more is needed, combine them with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
