ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Alfa Romeo 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L
€80,96
These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 4B1110H, are for Alfa Romeo 1.6L, 1.8L, and 2.0L engines. They are the standard choice when opening the engine for performance builds.
Internally, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper overlay, which is the layer that interfaces with the crankshaft. On connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Race Series bearings have increased crush and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings—two details designed to ensure the bearing does not move and remains properly lubricated when the block and connecting rod deform under load.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a crankshaft pin diameter of 49.987 to 50.000 mm, with a bearing width of 23.44 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.053 to 0.063 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the dimensions change.
They do not have the final silver tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
If the crankshaft has been reground or if you are unsure of the required size, please write to us with your engine code before ordering.
