ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Ford 2.0L (LF) Duratec
€51,01
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for the Ford 2.0L (LF) Duratec (part number 4B4390H), designed for engines that will operate under much higher loads and at higher RPMs than stock.
Internally, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead, tin, and copper sliding layer, which is the one that interfaces with the crankshaft. In the connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Race Series bearings have greater housing crush and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings, two details intended to ensure the bearing does not move and remains well-lubricated when the block and connecting rod deform under load.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 46.980 to 47.000 mm, with a bearing width of 16.25 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.051 to 0.060 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the final silver-colored tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black-bluish color is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm of additional clearance.
Before ordering, confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
