ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Ford Duratorq 3.2L (Ranger)
€116,45
These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 5B2260H, are for the Ford Duratorq 3.2L (Ranger). They are the go-to choice when opening up an engine for performance upgrades.
These are tri-metal bearings: an SAE 1010 steel backing, a copper-lead-tin layer approximately 0.3 mm thick, a nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper overlay that conforms to the crankshaft surface and resists seizing. In connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Race Series bearings feature increased crush and a slightly more eccentric design than standard bearings, two details engineered to ensure the bearing remains secure and properly lubricated as the block and rod deform under load.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a rod journal of 52.980 to 53.000 mm, with a bearing width of 24.45 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.055 to 0.066 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.
They do not feature the silver-tin final plating found on standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black-bluish color is as intended from the factory and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they are combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
Before ordering, please confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
