ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Honda B18C
€53,23
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearing set for Honda B18C, part number 4B1925H. This is ACL's competition range, the same as those used in drift, circuit, and drag racing engines.
These are trimetal bearings: an SAE 1010 steel base, a copper, lead, and tin layer of approximately 0.3 mm, a nickel barrier, and a surface layer of lead, tin, and copper that conforms to the crankshaft surface and resists seizing. In connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Compared to a standard bearing, the Race range features greater crush in the housing, which improves retention and heat transfer, as well as greater eccentricity to support the oil film at high engine speeds.
In standard size, ACL specifies this for a connecting rod journal of 44.976 to 45.000 mm, with a bearing width of 17.5 mm. For this diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.049 to 0.058 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement will change.
They do not have the final silver tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, combine them with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
If the crankshaft has been reground or you are unsure of the required size, please write to us with your engine code before ordering.
