€74,31
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearing set for Mitsubishi 3000 GT, Galant... (6G72, 6G73), part number 6B1140H. This is ACL’s competition range, the same used in drift, circuit, and drag racing engines.
The structure is trimetal, with a steel backing, copper-lead-tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizing even under very high loads. In the connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Race Series bearings have more crush and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings—two details designed to ensure the bearing does not move and remains well-lubricated when the block and connecting rod deform under load.
In the standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 49.980 to 50.000 mm, with a bearing width of 15.5 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of about 0.053 to 0.063 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been ground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the silver tin finish of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the surface of the bearings to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they are combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm of additional clearance.
If the crankshaft has been ground or you are unsure of the size needed, write to us with your engine code before ordering.
