Ver descripción y características

ACL Race Series connecting rod bearing set for Mitsubishi 4G94, part number 4B8050H. This is ACL's competition range, the same as the one installed in drift, circuit, and drag racing engines.

The structure is tri-metal, with a steel base, a copper, lead, and tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft surface layer that adapts and prevents seizing even under very high loads. In the connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.

Race Series bearings have more crush and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings, two details designed so that the bearing does not move and remains well lubricated when the block and connecting rod deform under load.

In standard size, ACL specifies this for a rod journal of 46.980 to 47.000 mm, with a bearing width of 16.8 mm. For that diameter, an oil clearance of about 0.051 to 0.060 mm is recommended, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.

They do not have the silver-tin final coating of standard bearings, so their dark color—between brown, black, and bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they are combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm more clearance.

If the crankshaft has been reground or you do not know which size you need, please write to us with your engine code before ordering.
