ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Mitsubishi 3.2L Turbo Diesel (4M41)
€118,68
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Mitsubishi 3.2L Turbo Diesel (4M41) (part number 4B1800H), designed for engines that will operate under much higher loads and RPMs than stock.
They feature three layers over a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper sliding layer, which is the one that works against the crankshaft. In the connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Compared to a stock bearing, the Race series has more housing interference, which improves retention and heat transfer, as well as greater eccentricity to promote an oil film when the engine is spinning at high RPM.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 53.970 to 54.000 mm, with a bearing width of 27.63 mm. For this diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.056 to 0.067 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement will change.
They do not have the silver-tin final plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they are combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
Before ordering, please confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
