These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 6B2640H, are for the Nissan 350Z - 280 and 300 bhp (VQ35DE). They are the standard choice when opening the engine for performance builds.

The structure is trimetal, featuring a steel back, copper-lead-tin lining, nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizure, even under very high loads. In connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.

Compared to an OEM bearing, the Race range has greater crush, which improves retention and heat transfer, as well as increased eccentricity to promote an oil film when the engine is running at high RPM.

In standard size, ACL specifies them for a rod journal of 51.956 to 51.975 mm, with a bearing width of 17.0 mm. For that diameter, an oil clearance of about 0.055 to 0.065 mm is recommended, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.

They do not have the silver-tin final plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown to black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.

Before ordering, please confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
