These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 6B2966H, are for the Nissan Patrol 4.2L Diesel (TD42). They are the standard choice when opening the engine for performance upgrades.

They feature a tri-metal structure with a steel backing, a copper-lead-tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizure, even under very high loads. On the rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.

Compared to a stock bearing, the Race series has higher crush for better housing retention and heat transfer, as well as greater eccentricity to improve the oil film at high engine speeds.

In standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 56.913 to 56.926 mm, with a bearing width of 26.1 mm. For this diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.059 to 0.070 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurements will change.

They do not have the silver tin finish of standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black and bluish color is factory-standard and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.

Before ordering, please confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
