These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 4B2976H, are for the Nissan Sunny GTI-R (SR20DET). They are the standard choice when opening the engine for performance upgrades.

These are tri-metal bearings: a SAE 1010 steel backing, a 0.3 mm copper-lead-tin layer, a nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper surface layer that conforms to the crankshaft surface and resists seizing. In connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to provide better fatigue resistance.

ACL manufactures them with more "crush" than a standard bearing to ensure they are held firmly in place and dissipate heat more effectively, and with more eccentricity, which helps maintain the oil film when the housing deforms at high RPMs.

In the standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 47.956 to 47.974 mm, with a bearing width of 19.1 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.051 to 0.061 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been ground, the measurement changes.

They do not have the final silver tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black-bluish color is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm of additional clearance.

Before ordering, confirm the measurement of your crankshaft (standard or ground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
