These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 4B7712H, are for Peugeot TU1, TU2.4, TU2J2, XW3, and XW7 engines. They are the standard choice when opening the engine for performance tuning.

The structure is tri-metal, with a steel backing, copper-lead-tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizing even under very high loads. In connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.

Compared to a stock bearing, the Race range features higher crush for better seating and heat transfer, as well as greater eccentricity to promote oil film formation at high engine speeds.

In standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 44.975 to 44.991 mm, with a bearing width of 19.75 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.049 to 0.058 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurements change.

They do not have the silver-tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, combine them with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.

Before ordering, confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
