ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Peugeot XU7
€126,43
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Peugeot XU7 (part number 4B7736H), designed for engines that will operate under much higher loads and at higher RPMs than stock.
These are tri-metal bearings: a SAE 1010 steel backing, a copper-lead-tin layer approximately 0.3 mm thick, a nickel barrier, and a surface layer of lead, tin, and copper that conforms to the crankshaft surface and resists seizing. In connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to provide better fatigue resistance.
ACL manufactures them with more "crush" (interference fit) than standard bearings, ensuring they stay securely in place and dissipate heat better, as well as increased eccentricity, which helps maintain the oil film when the housing deforms at high RPMs.
In the standard size, ACL specifies this for a connecting rod journal of 44.975 to 44.991 mm, with a bearing width of 22.5 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.049 to 0.058 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the final silver-colored tin plating found on standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they can be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
Before ordering, confirm your crankshaft measurement (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
