Ver descripción y características

ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Porsche 911 914 (part number 6B2452H), designed for engines that will operate under much higher loads and RPMs than stock.

These are tri-metal bearings: SAE 1010 steel base, a copper, lead, and tin layer of approximately 0.3 mm, a nickel barrier, and a surface layer of lead, tin, and copper that conforms to the crankshaft surface and resists seizing. In the rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.

The Race Series have more crush and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings, two details designed to ensure the bearing does not move and remains well-lubricated when the block and connecting rod deform under load.

In standard size, ACL specifies them for a rod journal of 56.971 to 56.990 mm, with a bearing width of 17.8 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.059 to 0.070 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.

They do not have the final silver tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the surface of the bearings to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they are combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
