ACL Race Series connecting rod bearing set for Porsche 911 930 2.3L, 2.7L, 3.0L (71-77), part number 6B2455H. This is ACL's competition range, the same as the one installed in drift, circuit, and drag racing engines.
Inside, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel base: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper sliding layer, which is the one that works against the crankshaft. In connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Compared to a standard bearing, the Race range has more crush for housing fitment, which improves retention and heat transfer, as well as increased eccentricity to promote the oil film when the engine runs at high RPMs.
In standard size, ACL specifies this for a connecting rod journal of 51.971 to 51.990 mm, with a bearing width of 19.8 mm. For that diameter, an oil clearance of about 0.055 to 0.065 mm is recommended, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft is reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the final silver-colored tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging between brown, black, and bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm of extra clearance.
Before ordering, confirm the measurement of your crankshaft (standard or reground); if you have any questions, write to us with your engine code.
