ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Porsche 911 930 3.0L (77-83) (part number 6B2462H), designed for engines that will operate under much higher loads and RPMs than stock.

They feature a tri-metal structure with a steel backing, a copper, lead, and tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizing even under very high loads. On the connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.

The Race Series have greater housing interference and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings, two details designed to keep the bearing from moving and ensure proper lubrication when the block and connecting rod deform under load.

In standard size, ACL specifies them for a rod journal of 52.971 to 52.990 mm, with a bearing width of 17.8 mm. For this diameter, an oil clearance of approximately 0.055 to 0.066 mm is recommended, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft is reground, the dimensions change.

They do not have the final silver tin coating found on standard bearings, so their dark, brownish-black and bluish color is factory-standard and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, combine them with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
