ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Porsche 911 993 3.6L, 3.8L (94-97)
€105,37
These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 6B2473H, are for the Porsche 911 993 3.6L, 3.8L (94-97). They are the standard choice when opening an engine for performance tuning.
Internally, they feature three layers on a high-strength steel backing: a copper-lead-tin lining, a thin nickel barrier, and a lead-tin-copper overlay, which is the layer that interfaces with the crankshaft. In connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Race Series bearings have increased crush and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings—two details designed to ensure the bearing remains stationary and properly lubricated when the block and connecting rod deform under load.
In the standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 54.971 to 54.990 mm, with a bearing width of 14.8 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.057 to 0.068 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the silver-tin final plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—a mix of brown, black, and bluish tones—is as they come from the factory and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the surface of the bearings to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
If the crankshaft has been reground or you are unsure of the required size, please write to us with your engine code before placing your order.
