ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Saab 2.0L and 2.3L, incl. Turbo (B20X, B23X)
€122,00
These ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings, part number 4B2010H, are for Saab 2.0L and 2.3L engines, including Turbo (B20X, B23X). They are the go-to choice when opening up an engine for performance tuning.
These are tri-metal bearings: a SAE 1010 steel backing, a copper-lead-tin layer approximately 0.3 mm thick, a nickel barrier, and a surface layer of lead, tin, and copper that conforms to the crankshaft surface and resists seizing. In connecting rod bearings, the surface layer is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Compared to a standard bearing, the Race range features greater housing interference, which improves retention and heat transfer, as well as increased eccentricity to promote an oil film when the engine is running at high RPM.
In standard size, ACL specifies them for a connecting rod journal of 51.981 to 52.000 mm, with a bearing width of 20.25 mm. For that diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.055 to 0.065 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been reground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the final silver-tin plating found on standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging from brown and black to bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides an additional 0.025 mm of clearance.
Before ordering, please confirm the measurement of your crankshaft (standard or reground); if you have any questions, contact us with your engine code.
