ACL Race Series connecting rod bearings for Toyota and Lotus 2ZZ-GE (Celica, Elise, Exige)
€104,25
ACL Race Series connecting rod bearing set for Toyota and Lotus 2ZZ-GE (Celica, Elise, Exige), part number 4B1856H. This is ACL’s competition range, the same as used in drift, circuit, and drag racing engines.
The structure is trimetal, consisting of a steel backing, a copper-lead-tin lining, a nickel barrier, and a soft overlay that conforms and prevents seizing even under very high loads. In the connecting rod bearings, the overlay is thinner to better withstand fatigue.
Race Series bearings feature greater housing interference and a slightly more eccentric shape than standard bearings, two details designed to ensure the bearing does not move and remains well-lubricated as the block and connecting rod deform under load.
In the standard size, ACL specifies this for a rod journal of 44.992 to 45.000 mm, with a bearing width of 16.0 mm. For this diameter, they recommend an oil clearance of approximately 0.049 to 0.058 mm, measured with a micrometer and bore gauge. If the crankshaft has been ground, the measurement changes.
They do not have the final silver tin plating of standard bearings, so their dark color—ranging between brown, black, and bluish—is the factory finish and does not indicate any defect. ACL advises against polishing the bearing surface to adjust clearance; if more is needed, they should be combined with the HX version, which provides 0.025 mm of additional clearance.
If the crankshaft has been ground or you are unsure of the required size, please write to us with your engine code before ordering.
