V3 complete kit with 4.3-liter tank, for turbo or supercharged engines up to 1.5 bar of boost. Water or methanol injection sprays a very fine mist into the intake. As it evaporates, the water absorbs heat and lowers the air temperature by several tens of degrees: the air becomes denser, boost and timing can be increased without needing higher octane, knocking is reduced, and exhaust temperatures are lowered. AEM claims up to 20% more power. Water alone can be used, preferably demineralized, or a mixture of up to 50% methanol; for safety, never exceed that percentage. The injector must be placed higher than the tank, before the throttle body and after the intercooler and the mass airflow sensor, if present.
Requires tuned mapping and should ideally be installed by an experienced technician.
