With this ARP 208-5404 kit, the Honda B18A1 and B18B1 main caps are secured with studs instead of bolts.
Its purpose is to prevent the main caps from moving or rubbing against the block at high RPMs, and it also protects the block threads. They come with their hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chrome-moly steel treated to 190,000 psi, with the threads rolled after heat treatment.
Use ARP assembly lubricant and their torque specifications, because with a different lubricant the load received by each part will not be the same. If you have any doubts about whether this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
