ARP cylinder head stud kit for the Mitsubishi 4G63 (94-07 M11 ARP 8740 standard studs) (M11), part number 207-4203. It replaces the stock head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load better across the gasket and does not wear out the block threads every time the cylinder head is removed.
They are made of 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP itself to approximately 190,000 psi tensile strength. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to align properly, and the thread is rolled after heat treatment, which ARP claims increases fatigue strength by a factor of twenty.
Follow the torque specifications and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Before ordering, confirm your engine code; if you are not sure, we can help you check it.
