ARP 204-4102 head studs are made for the Volkswagen 1.8L 20V Turbo (includes mounting tool, M11). Replacing stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, a proprietary ARP alloy that reaches approximately 220,000 psi tensile strength and maintains its properties better than chrome-moly at high temperatures. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which gives ARP studs far superior fatigue strength, and the final grinding ensures that the cylinder head and gasket are aligned during assembly.
