ARP cylinder head stud kit for the Mitsubishi 4G63 (81-93 M12 Standard studs) (M12), part number 207-4201. Replaces the factory head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load more evenly across the gasket and prevents damage to the block threads each time the cylinder head is removed.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and head to seat in alignment, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases fatigue strength by a factor of twenty.
