Description

This ARP 251-4701 kit replaces the Ford Sierra and Escort Cosworth cylinder head bolts (M12) with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to have its power increased, as the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.

They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. The threads are rolled after the heat treatment, which gives ARP studs superior fatigue strength, and the final grinding ensures that the cylinder head and gasket are aligned and seated correctly during assembly.

Use ARP assembly lubricant and their torque specifications, as the load received by each part will differ with other lubricants. Please confirm your engine code before ordering; if you are unsure, we can help you verify it.
