The ARP 124-4003 cylinder head studs are made for the Rover V8 3.5L 3.9L 4.2L (14 studs). Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine operates with higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP centerless grinds each stud after heat treatment to ensure they are straight and concentric, and thread-rolls them at the end of the process; this achieves a fatigue strength about twenty times higher than that of a thread cut before heat treatment.
