ARP cylinder head stud kit for the Ford 2300cc Pinto (standard studs), part number 151-4202. It replaces the stock head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load more evenly across the gasket and prevents damage to the engine block threads every time the cylinder head is removed.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP precision-grinds every stud after heat treatment to ensure they are straight and concentric, and rolls the threads after the heat treatment process; this results in a fatigue strength roughly twenty times higher than that of threads cut before heat treatment.
