ARP 151-4204 head studs are made for the 2L and 2.3L Ford Duratec (2003+). Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from 8740 chromoly steel, heat-treated by ARP to a tensile strength of 190,000 psi. ARP precision-grinds every stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and rolls the threads after heat treatment; this results in a fatigue strength about twenty times higher than a thread cut before treatment.
