Description

ARP cylinder head stud kit for the Mini Cooper 1.6L W10/W11 Supercharged and N/A (02-08), part number 201-4301. It replaces the stock head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load better over the gasket and does not damage the engine block threads every time the cylinder head is removed.

They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP grinds each stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and rolls the threads at the end of the process; this achieves a fatigue resistance approximately twenty times greater than that of a thread cut before heat treatment.
