ARP cylinder head stud kit for the BMW M3 E36 and E46 (S50B30, S50B32 and S54B32), part number 201-4303. It replaces the stock head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load more evenly across the gasket and does not damage the block threads every time the cylinder head is removed.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, an ARP-proprietary alloy that reaches a tensile strength of approximately 220,000 psi and maintains its properties better under heat than chrome-moly. Each stud is centerless-ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to fit perfectly aligned, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP claims multiplies their fatigue strength by twenty.
