ARP 201-4605 head studs are made for the BMW M3 E30 2.3L and 2.5L (S14B23 and S14B25). Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from 8740 chromoly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which gives ARP studs superior fatigue strength, and the final grinding ensures the head and gasket seat aligned during installation.
Follow the torque specs and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Confirm the engine code before ordering; if you are unsure, we can help you verify it.
