ARP 202-4202 head studs are made for the Nissan A12. Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running with higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from 8740 chromoly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to 190,000 psi tensile strength. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to seat properly, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases fatigue strength by twenty times.
Follow the torque specifications and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. If you are unsure if this is the correct part for your engine, please message us with your engine code and year.
