This ARP 202-4206 kit replaces the Nissan L24, L26, and L28 cylinder head bolts with studs. It is one of the first upgrades performed on an engine intended for increased power, as the head gasket is one of the first points of failure.
They are manufactured from 8740 chromoly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP grinds each stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and rolls the threads at the end of the process; this achieves a fatigue strength about twenty times greater than that of a thread made before heat treatment.
Tighten following ARP's sequence and torque values and using their assembly lubricant, as the specified torque settings are designed for it. If you are unsure if this is the correct part for your engine, please write to us with your engine code and year.
