This ARP 203-4203 kit replaces the cylinder head bolts on the Toyota 4A-GE 16v and 20v (ARP 8740) with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to be tuned for more power, as the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP itself to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to seat in alignment, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states multiplies its fatigue resistance by twenty.
Follow the torque specifications and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque.
