Description

ARP 203-4204 head studs are made for the Toyota 3S-G(T)E (ARP 8740). Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running with higher turbo pressure or higher compression.

They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of 190,000 psi. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to seat properly, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases their fatigue strength by a factor of twenty.
