Description

ARP 203-4205 head studs are made for the Toyota 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE (ARP 8740 Standard studs). Replacing the factory bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running higher turbo pressure or higher compression.

They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the head gasket and cylinder head to align correctly, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases fatigue strength by ten times.

Follow the torque specifications and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Before ordering, confirm your engine code; if you are unsure, we can help you verify it.
