ARP cylinder head stud kit for the Toyota 2TC and 3TC, part number 203-4206. It replaces the stock cylinder head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load more evenly across the gasket and does not wear out the block threads every time the cylinder head is removed.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP itself to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP centerless grinds each stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and thread-rolls it at the end of the process; this achieves a fatigue strength approximately twenty times greater than that of a thread made before heat treatment.
