This ARP 203-4304 kit replaces the Toyota 4A-GE 20V cylinder head bolts (ARP 2000) with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to have its power increased, as the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, an ARP-proprietary alloy that reaches a tensile strength of about 220,000 psi and maintains its properties better at temperature than chrome-moly. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment so that it is perfectly concentric, ensuring the gasket and cylinder head are installed in alignment, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases fatigue strength by a factor of twenty.
