This ARP 204-4105 kit replaces the Audi 2.7L Bi-Turbo cylinder head bolts with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that will have increased power, because the head gasket is one of the points that fails first.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, a proprietary alloy from ARP that reaches about 220,000 psi of tensile strength and maintains its properties better under heat than chrome-moly. Each stud is centerless-ground after heat treatment so that it remains perfectly concentric, ensuring the gasket and cylinder head are aligned, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which, according to ARP, multiplies fatigue resistance by twenty.
