ARP 204-4707 head studs are made for the Porsche 996 3.4L (M96). Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running with higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, a proprietary ARP alloy that reaches a tensile strength of about 220,000 psi and maintains its properties better than chrome-moly at high temperatures. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to seat in alignment, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states increases fatigue strength by twenty times.
