Description

This ARP 206-4201 kit replaces the cylinder head bolts on the BMC A-Series 9-stud engine with studs. It is one of the first upgrades performed on an engine that is going to be tuned for more power, as the cylinder head gasket is one of the first points to fail.

They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which gives ARP studs superior fatigue resistance, and the final precision grinding ensures that the head and gasket seat in alignment during installation.

Follow the torque specifications and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Not sure which engine version you have? Send us the code and we will confirm the correct part number.
