ARP 208-4302 head studs are made for the Honda B18A1. Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from 8740 chromoly steel, heat-treated in-house by ARP to a tensile strength of 190,000 psi. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to seat properly, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP claims increases their fatigue strength by twenty times.
Follow the torque specifications and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using motor oil will change the actual torque. Confirm your engine code before ordering; if you are unsure, we can help you verify it.
