This ARP 208-4701 kit replaces the Honda K20A2 and K20A3 cylinder head bolts with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to have its power increased, because the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.
They are made of 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP itself to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP grinds each stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and rolls the threads at the end of the process; this achieves a fatigue resistance about twenty times greater than that of a thread made before heat treatment.
